a walk around the block
This morning when I got home from working the night shift, it was just so beautiful outside that I decided to put off sleep for a little while longer in favor of taking a walk around the block. As I walked, I was reminded why spring is my favorite season in Minnesota. I love watching the snow and ice melting, giving way to green again. I love hearing the birds sing and the wind blow through the trees. But most of all I love the change in the air, sleeping with my window wide open and how it just feels like spring. I found myself wishing I would have taken more walks in the fall (my second favorite season here), especially because it might have been my last chance for such things before I go to Mexico. And as I walked, I was drawn to all of the bits and pieces of beauty in God's creation that I noticed in the midst of the city. So once I made it back to my apartment, I grabbed my camera and walked around the block again, trying to capture a few of these glimpses of grace - God's gifts to me this morning. Here are my favorites, unedited, in order of appearance on my walk:

"They say Aslan is on the move--perhaps has already landed." Yay for Spring!

I love seeing the left-over dead leaves from fall. Ok, that sounds morbid. But really, I think that it's so amazing that they're still there, just where God left them before the snow began. And then to see last year's leaves next to this year's buds. Amazing.
And yes, Kat, I've heard Aslan is on the move. Yay for Spring!
