This past week has been a whirlwind of busyness and changes:
- On Tuesday, I signed a bunch of legal documents (such a health care directive) that needed to be done before I leave the country. It is a relief to have this major item finally checked off of my to-do list!
- On Tuesday night, I worked my last shift at HCMC. I've been there ever since becoming a nurse 3.5 years ago. My wonderful co-workers sent me off with a breakfast at Maria's Cafe after I turned in my badge that morning. I am really going to miss the great people whom I've had the privilege to work with there.
- On Friday, I brought my cat Figaro to my mom's house, where he'll stay for the next few weeks while I'm out of town. It's been strange and a bit lonely to be alone in my apartment for the first time ever! He still needs a permanent place to stay while I'm in Mexico - let me know if you or someone you know would be willing to give my cat a home!
- Today I leave for a 3 week pre-departure missionary training at MTI in Colorado. It's called "SPLICE" which stands for Spiritual, Personal, Lifestyle, Interpersonal, Cultural, Endure/Enjoy. I'm looking forward to this time to prepare for Mexico more intentionally, and I pray that it will help me in all of the changes and transitions that are yet to come.
Please pray with me that I would know God's constant presence in the midst of all that is changing! Pray especially for my heart as I have begin to say my goodbyes over the next 7 weeks before I leave for Mexico...
