nothing short of a miracle

Here's a good story for you all... The other morning as I was leaving work, I couldn't find my car keys. The more I thought about it as I made my way down the elevator, the more I worried that I had left them in the car door when I locked it (something I have NEVER done before, but I couldn't come up with any other explanation of where they might be). As I exited the hospital, I was convinced that my car would be gone. I mean, it had been parked on the streets...of downtown Minneapolis...right by the County Hospital and the Metrodome...overnight...for over 10 hours. I was thinking how I've never had one problem parking on the street for 3.5 years of working there, and now 2 weeks before I'm done my car was going to be stolen. And it would be all my fault.

But as I rounded the corner onto 7th St, from 1/3 of a block away, I could see my keys...hanging in the drivers side car door. They were still there, and so was my car. After being parked on the streets...of downtown Minneapolis...right by the County Hospital and the Metrodome...overnight...for over 10 hours...with the keys hanging there practically inviting some unscrupulous person to open the door, start the ignition, and drive away.

It was nothing short of a miracle.

On another note, when I went out to my car this morning, I noticed that this was on the hood:

Random, no?

Hi Megan,
I'm Jeff Connaire. I work at HCMC, too. Sounds like you kinda pulled a "Connaire" special with your car. I'm sending in a form for a monthly donation. When I saw those pictures of you there in Mexico I just had to do something.
Do good!
Be happy!
Jeff
